Albert Boxler Riesling Vanne Sommerberg Grand Cru 2022

From pre-WWI and 1953 plantings on Sommerberg's upper stony terraces at 400 meters, this is taut, exacting Riesling. Tangerine oil, Williams pear, and a trace of yeast still finding its footing on the nose. On the palate, Mirabelle plum richness and sharp lemon zestiness pull against each other in a way that feels charged rather than unresolved, the tension is the point. Bone-dry, phenolic, with a stony backbone that holds everything firm through a long, clean finish. Drink 2027–2040.
