Adega Damm Cardia Brancellao 2022

From Amandi, aged nine months in used oak, this Brancellao opens with warm spice, allspice, cinnamon, pink pepper, before shifting into dried florals and tart sour cherry. Lean and alive on the palate, with high acidity driving things forward. There's a slight hollowness mid-palate, characteristic of the variety, but the wine stays compact and energetic throughout. An intriguing expression of a grape that rewards attention.
