Smoky and spice-driven on the nose, with greengage, white pepper and volcanic mineral depth cutting through the initial reduction. The palate is searingly focused — vertical, almost needle-like in its precision, with citrus brightness buffered by the potassium-rich Rangen soils into something balanced rather than sharp. Bone-dry and saline on the finish, this has the coiled intensity of a wine that hasn't yet said what it means. Old vines up to 60 years here; give it time. It will be exceptional.
