Reductive smoke initially veils the nose, but orange blossom and candied citrus peel push through with quiet confidence. On the palate, the texture is almost plush — richly weighted for a bone-dry wine — with malo-lactic fermentation smoothing the acidity into something gentle and rounded rather than sharp. The varietal perfume is dialed back, restrained even, which gives this a composed, fine-boned character that will only sharpen with time.
