Ninety percent Tempranillo and ten percent Garnacha from old vines on calcareous soils, aged up to 16 months in large-format French oak. Deep garnet with a purple rim. Sour cherry, blackberry, dried violets and a faint iron edge give the nose real personality, layered and immediately engaging. Chalky tannins pull the wine into a firm, compact frame, while the dark fruit and floral character carry well through the finish. Distinctive Ribera del Duero with genuine nuance and a lightness of touch that sets it apart from heavier expressions of the region.
