Rich and concentrated, yet the aromatics feel restrained for this prestigious site. Dark cherry and leather emerge alongside tobacco and warming spice, but everything seems held back, lacking the expressive clarity that defines great Monvigliero. The tannins show good structure, though the wine reads more workmanlike than inspired. Solid for most producers, but middling within Scavino's stellar lineup. Worth revisiting in 3-5 years.
