Ostertag Riesling Heissenberg 2021

Pure Triassic sandstone with almost no topsoil — the Heissenberg runs hot, yields tiny berries, and concentration is essentially built into the site. Mirabelle and citrus peel on the nose, with a firm phenolic edge that carries through to the palate. This is grippy and textural for a Riesling, tannin-like in its structure, and the finish drives long with a striking salinity. Bone-dry and fiercely individual.
