A five-variety Bordeaux blend drawn from the finest individual parcels, each component selected separately before the final assemblage is assessed for release. Pressed iris, black cherry, clove and a touch of dried potpourri on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and finely structured, with sinewy tannins and bright acidity framing layers of dark, mineral-edged fruit. The finish is precise and Bordeaux-like in its composure, lingering long after the wine has gone. Sophisticated now, but built to develop gracefully over the next 20 years.
