Cropped at a severe 16hL/ha, this has the concentration to match its precision. Strawberry, red cherry and a faint dried-fruit undercurrent, fig, a touch of date, give it a mildly exotic edge without straying far from its Burgundian instincts. The fruit is clean and sappy on the mid-palate, oak woven in through a light chewiness rather than announced. The finish turns slightly candied, and while everything is in place, the wine still feels like it's gathering itself. Give it two to three years and let the parts cohere.
