Hamilton Russell Vineyards Chardonnay 2021

Whole bunch pressed, 80% wild fermented, nine months on lees with 27% new François Frères oak. Honeysuckle, grapefruit and a light drizzle of wild honey on the nose, the oak woven in rather than imposed. On the palate it's taut and focused — crisp entry, keen acidity, and a citrus edge of sour lemon and orange rind that sharpens toward the finish. A saline pull on the close ties it all together. Promising and well-made.
