Albert Mann Gewurztraminer 2021

Drawn from Grand Cru fruit across Furstentum, Steingrubler and Wineck-Schlossberg, plus old vines from Altenbourg and Rosenberg, this is a cooler-vintage Gewurztraminer that punches well above its circumstances. The nose is restrained and pretty, honeysuckle and rose petal without the usual bombast. On the palate, candied orange peel gives way to fresh tangerine zest, pepper and nutmeg lifting the whole thing into genuinely bright territory. At 6 g/L acidity and 8 g/L residual sugar, the balance is near-perfect, with a gentle warmth on the finish that somehow reads as freshness rather than weight.
