Quiet and precise — this is Brunello in a more restrained register. Dried strawberry, ground clove, sage and a faint thread of violet drift from the glass, building slowly rather than announcing themselves. On the palate it's silken and light-footed, with red berry fruit carried along by bright, focused acidity and a fine mineral spine. Lavender lingers into the finish alongside a gentle grip of fine-grained tannins and a fresh, almost crunchy close. Patience will reward here.
