A touch of reduction on the nose initially, though it settles with air. Crunchy red apple, ginger root and a squeeze of lemon pith on entry, backed by decent weight through the mid-palate. Balanced and honest, but lacking the fluid grace and charm that Raveneau's Forêt shows at the same stage — something slightly compressed about the finish holds this a step behind.
