François Raveneau Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru 2020

The most reduced of Raveneau's 2020 Grand Crus at barrel stage, Les Clos shows a waxy, textured mouthfeel with herbaceous and faintly peppery character — green and savoury rather than fruit-driven. Orange peel surfaces toward the finish, which lingers with real persistence. There's something almost austere about it right now, but that's the point: this wine has mass it hasn't yet found, and élevage plus bottle age will pull everything into focus. Patience is non-negotiable.
