Massal-selection Sémillon from granitic slopes between 310m and 350m, wild-fermented and aged 18 months on primary lees in well-seasoned barriques. The nose is richly leesy with sea spray and a faint, intriguing flor-like drift, distinctive and unhurried. On the palate, apricot, peach and kiwi sit in easy harmony, the whole thing flowing long and evenly balanced. It doesn't quite reach the finishing complexity of Alheit's most arresting cuvées this vintage, but it's a very fine wine by any honest measure.
