Albert Mann Riesling Furstentum Grand Cru 2020

Three mid-slope plots on Furstentum's limestone, and the tension between sun-warmed fruit and cold stone is the whole story here. Dried herbs and meadow flowers on the nose, then the palate delivers that paradox head-on, ripe and generous one moment, then pulled back by a chalky, almost austere minerality. Salted citrus threads through the mid-palate, and the finish is all crushed limestone, bone-dry and electric. Riveting.
