Dried orange peel, candied lemon rind, and apricot concentrate on the nose — medicinal in the best sense, like a tincture of preserved citrus. On the palate, the sweetness is immense (216 g/L sugar) yet the acidity holds it taut, laser-focused and crystalline. No botrytis anywhere; this is pure, straw-dried Riesling — 1,400kg pressed down to just 240 liters of juice over 26 hours. Only made twice, 2017 and now 2020. Built to outlive everyone in the room.
