François Raveneau Chablis Forêts 1er Cru 2019

Closed and introverted at first, the nose takes time to unfurl, eventually offering cool mint and faint chalk. On the palate it comes alive, a sharp saline thrust at entry, vivid tension through the mid-palate, and a briny, oceanic lift toward the finish. Tightly-knit and built for the cellar, but the bones are clearly excellent. Textbook Chablis from one of the appellation's great addresses.

François Raveneau

François Raveneau is among the most sought-after names in Chablis, producing mineral-driven Chardonnay from Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites with a cellar approach that has changed little in decades.
