This is not a wine that announces itself loudly; it earns attention through nuance. Taut and focused on the palate, with fine-grained tannins and acidity that keeps everything in line. Trout Gulch shows its Santa Cruz Mountains character here, nervy, precise, more about tension than volume. Give it another year or two to fully unwind.
