Ceritas Chardonnay Peter Martin Ray Vineyard 2019

Mineral-driven to the point of austerity, fruit is barely a presence here. Saline brine, crushed chalk, white pepper and a squeeze of grapefruit pith take center stage, with phenolic grip adding texture to the wine's lean, focused frame. This is a Chardonnay built on tension rather than generosity, and that rocky, high-elevation site at Peter Martin Ray is written all over it. Give it two to three years and it should open into something genuinely distinguished.
