Savory and textured from the first sniff, dried herbs, apricot pit, a whisper of wet stone. The palate is where this really opens up: plum flesh and salted apricot skin, with a creamy, almost lanolin-like smoothness that carries the fruit deep into the finish. Twelve grams of residual sugar vanish entirely into the wine's density and drive. From a prime south-facing mid-slope parcel on 30-to-60-year-old vines rooted in gypsum-rich marl and Triassic sandstone, it has the structure to develop for a decade but the harmony to drink beautifully now.
