Smoke and flint lead the way on this 2019 Ronco della Chiesa, with crushed white peach, wet stone, and a gentle undercurrent of sweet spice. There's a touch of the tropics in the fruit — a faint melon and confectionary note that could read as incongruous but somehow lands in perfect proportion. Silky in texture, with a soft inner sweetness that fills out the mid-palate without tipping toward heaviness. The finish is long and floral, clean and precise. A distinctive expression of varietal Friulano from Collio — slightly sweeter in character than some vintages, yet completely harmonious.
