The Sadie Family Wines Soldaat 2018

Pure Grenache Noir from Piekenierskloof, and it shows. The nose is earthy and inviting, red berries, wild heather, and a drift of fynbos that opens up and adds real depth with air. On the palate, there's a plush, generous entry that gives way to bright red cherry and strawberry, threaded with white pepper and sage through to a lingering finish. Structured enough to reward patience, yet so immediately appealing it will be hard to hold back.
