Dark and inviting from the start — black cherry, plum compote, mocha and rubbed sage weave through a rich, silky frame. Brisk acidity lifts the dense fruit core, while sweet herbal tones and tobacco notes build quietly toward the finish. A lattice of firm, grippy tannins tightens things up, with tart wild berries and sour citrus finding some relief from a flicker of violet pastille. Notably, Terre Nere has opted to release the single-vineyard Capriolo — typically bottled as a Riserva — alongside their standard 2018 Brunello, a sensible call given the vintage.
