Roagna Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti 2018

Hauntingly delicate and unmistakably Roagna. Dried red cherry, candied orange peel, sweet pipe tobacco and cinnamon spice drift from the glass with an almost ethereal lightness. Light- to medium-bodied, it moves across the palate with a feathery grace, finely drawn tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, fragrant close touched by mint and white pepper. That Roagna manages this level of distinction in a difficult vintage speaks to something deeper than winemaking craft.
