Radikon Slatnik 2018

Eighty percent Chardonnay filled out with Sauvignon Blanc, the 2018 Slatnik opens with heady floral aromatics — dried peach, yellow blossom, ginger, and grapefruit zest over a cool undercurrent of wet stone. On the palate it's generous and silky, layers of ripe apricot, nectarine, and honeydew building through a mid-palate that shifts from tropical richness toward something more savory and spiced. Candied orange peel and a sour, nervy acidity provide the tension that keeps it honest. The floral concentration lingers well past a minute — a finish that earns its reputation.
