Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco 2018

An open, generous Barbaresco with more depth than you might expect from a declassified vintage, in 2018 the Produttori chose not to release their individual cru Riservas, folding those top-lot grapes into this single bottling instead. Dark cherry, cedar, tobacco and warming spice move through in well-defined layers, backed by a firm tannic grip that gives the wine real structure. It lacks the nuance of a truly great Barbaresco year, but that's a high bar, and what's here is genuinely satisfying. Drink now through 2033–2038.
