Mullineux Syrah Iron 2018

Lifted and floral on the nose, with blueberry and dark plum leading over the more brooding schist bottling, there's a distinctly Rhône-like quality here, almost violet-edged. On the palate it's medium-bodied, with grippy, granular tannins that grip early and gradually settle. Graphite and a firm mineral thread carry through the finish, giving the wine real drive and focus. Among the Mullineux single-soil Syrahs, this is the one to seek out.
