Sour cherry, dried rose petal, animal musk and a thread of mint, Le Ragnaie's 2018 Rosso is immediately expressive and layered. Silky in texture with fine tannins that build gently toward the finish, it stays energetic throughout without ever feeling taut or austere. Wild strawberry emerges on the mid-palate, lifted by bright acidity and a mineral undercurrent that carries the wine long and dry to the close. A touch of licorice lingers. Graceful and harmonious, this is Sangiovese in a giving mood, compelling from the moment it hits the glass.
