Günther Steinmetz Riesling Dhroner Hofberg 2018

Iron-laced slate from the Hofberg hillside announces itself immediately, crushed stone, wet rock, and a flinty smokiness that's the vineyard's calling card. Fuller in body than most Mosel Rieslings, with grapefruit pith and toasted hazelnut giving it real presence on the mid-palate. Bright, focused acidity keeps everything taut, and the finish lingers on that distinctive charred-mineral note. A serious, site-driven wine.
