Ripe blueberry, dark cherry, crushed violet and a touch of warm spice, the RedCar Estate fruit from Fort Ross-Seaview announces itself with confidence. Fleshy and mid-weight, this is Sonoma Coast Pinot built for immediacy rather than the cellar, with generous flesh up front and just enough density on the back end to keep things interesting. Tannins are soft and giving, acidity balanced rather than driving. As a debut offering in the Ceritas lineup, it's pure pleasure now, though that concentration hints at a more layered future if you can hold a few bottles back.
