Ceritas Pinot Noir Occidental Vineyard 2018

Blood orange, crushed mint, warm spice and a lifted floral note, this is a Pinot built on vertical drive rather than sheer width. There's serious depth here, the kind that comes from a site that knows what it's doing, and the 2018 vintage adds a cool-climate precision that keeps everything honest. A change in pruning pulled the wine back from the more overt style of earlier editions, and the result is something a touch more restrained and finely drawn. The structure is there to support a few years in bottle, give it until 2025 or so, though it's already compelling enough to pull a cork now.
