Alheit Vineyards Huilkrans 2018

Pure Chenin Blanc from the Citrus dal Mountains in the Olifants River. Waxier and more resinous than Alheit's other 2018s, with a stony undercurrent of granite and shale that surfaces with air. Taut acidity keeps everything in line — crisp, poised, with a saline edge threading toward a finish of dried mango and candied pineapple. Long and precise. Another outstanding wine from Chris Alheit.
