Mullineux White Old Vines White 2017

A blend of Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Clairette Blanche, Grenache Blanc and Sémillon Gris, the 2017 Old Vines White is a touch more restrained than the 2016, with a lighter, more delicate nose, honeysuckle, peach skin and white blossom. Lean and medium-bodied on the palate, with crisp acidity and a firm, wiry frame that carries white pepper and bitter orange peel through to a clean, precise finish. Very fine, though those who loved the generous, hedonistic character of the 2016 may find this one plays its cards closer to its chest.
