Mullineux Chenin Blanc Granite 2017

Tighter and more restrained than the 2016, this granite-driven Chenin needs some coaxing to open up, the aromatics are precise but slow to reveal themselves. Once they do, there's a clean, linear quality to the nose that feels distinctly stony and focused. On the palate, balance is the defining feature: acidity finely calibrated, texture composed, nothing out of place. Ginger spice threads through toward the finish, which holds its line with quiet persistence.
