Ceritas Cabernet Sauvignon Peter Martin Ray Vineyard 2017

Peter Martin Ray delivers something surprisingly polished for a difficult vintage. The 2017's warm growing season has softened the wine's edges, there's less of the brooding savory depth you'd expect from this site, replaced by rounder, more approachable contours. Dark cherry, dried herbs, cedar and a touch of iron. Mid-weight structure with firm but yielding tannins and enough backbone to hold its shape. Not the most complex expression of this vineyard, but it's genuinely lovely and will drink well in the near term. Enjoy over the next five to seven years.
