Alheit Vineyards Cartology 2017

Old bush vine Chenin, fermented without SO2 addition and aged in used barrels after a rough settle. Dried honey, orange blossom and beeswax on the nose, focused and gaining depth with each minute in the glass. On the palate, tangy and marmalade-edged from the outset, with acidity that feels perfectly calibrated rather than imposed. Stem ginger and rhubarb emerge toward a finish that's poised and alive. Excellent.
