Wieninger Wiener Gemischter Satz Rosengartl 2016

Pungent and alive from the first sniff, lime pith, crab apple, rhubarb and orange zest come through with real sharpness, a direct expression of the high Grüner Veltliner content alongside acid-retentive Pinot Blanc and Riesling. Roasted almond and hazelnut bring a nutty richness that deepens the mid-palate without softening its edges; for all its 14% alcohol, the wine stays taut and tart, the body the only real concession to that weight. The finish holds that same push-pull of richness and vivid tang, with just a trace of warmth at the very end. Worth noting: future releases will carry 'Ried' ahead of Rosengartl on the label to formally identify it as a single-site wine, though the wine itself remains unchanged.
