Dark, brooding, and built for the long haul. Dried roses, iron, tar, dark cherry and tobacco move through a dense tannic frame that grips and holds without releasing much — not yet. There's a wild, feral edge to Bric del Fiasc that no amount of coaxing will tame early on, and the 2016 has it in spades. Give it a decade at minimum and it will likely be outstanding; right now it belongs in the cellar. Drink 2028–2048.

→A Castiglione Falletto estate synonymous with single-vineyard Barolo, Paolo Scavino built its reputation on Bric dël Fiasc before expanding across some of the Langhe's most sought-after crus. Now run by the second generation, the wines remain precise, structured, and worth seeking out.
