Lime juice, green apple and fresh ginger open with a lively, invigorating edge. There's a pleasant chew to it — apple skin texture gives the mid-palate some grip without weighing things down. Crushed stone and a squeeze of zest carry through to a sustained finish, though sheer juiciness and transparency aren't this wine's strengths. Worth noting: no 2015 Burgstall was produced, as the fruit accumulated sugar too rapidly to qualify for Federspiel. A focused, food-friendly Wachau Riesling that punches at its classification.
