Bernhard Ott Riesling Feuersbrunn 2016

Lime zest, green apple and raw ginger open things up, threaded through with honeysuckle perfume. On the palate it's firm and tightly-knit, with a vivid, citrus-driven cut that carries through to a finish that practically puckers, a trace of pineapple core adding an unexpected tropical lift. It could use a touch more generosity and mineral depth, but as dry Wagram Riesling goes, this is one of Ott's most distinctive and well-executed efforts.
