Rudi Pichler Riesling Federspiel 2015

Apple, lime and lima bean on the nose, aromas that could pass for Grüner Veltliner rather than Riesling. The mid-palate is smoother and more polished, picking up that characteristic tart-edged juiciness the grape does well, even if this vintage doesn't show it at full stretch. The finish tightens up a touch, feeling a little pinched. The Federspiel alcohol ceiling appears to have nudged this one just short of full flavor development.
