Generously proportioned without losing its footing, there's a lush, almost indulgent core of blackberry and candied violet that builds as the wine opens up. Tannins emerge on the back end, firm and grounding, pulling the whole thing into focus before it drifts into excess. A touch decadent in its youth — give it three to five years to settle into itself.
