Pingus 2015

Near-opaque ruby, the 2015 Pingus opens with dark plum, blackberry, violet and incense, a trace of crushed stone threading through and keeping everything in check. Dense and tightly-knit on the palate, yet there's a precision to it that cuts through the sheer concentration: bitter cherry, dried florals and dark spice stacked with uncommon focus. Tannins are finely grained and thoroughly absorbed, framing a finish of exceptional length that fades slowly on dried rose and mineral dust. Power and finesse rarely coexist this comfortably.
