La Rioja Alta 904 Gran Reserva 2015

Dark cherry, rose petal and black raspberry lead, with tobacco, dried thyme and a slow-building sweetness of vanilla and smoky mineral as it breathes. Entry is sappy and precise, the texture gently grippy without ever feeling heavy — fruit, spice and florals hold together through a finish of real length. Candied blue fruit and spice cake linger at the back end. Tannins are youthful and still finding their footing; best from 2026 through 2038.
