Sourced, as always, from Kreutles, Loibenberg, and Kellerberg in descending order of volume. The nose opens with a musky, floral perfume before settling into something darker and more savory — Burley tobacco, roasted parsnip, earthy rutabaga. Full-bodied and subtly viscous on the palate, yet there's a lively peachy juiciness here that Knoll senior himself finds surprising for a Vinothekfüllung. The finish trails off through smoky black tea, iodine, and a crack of Madagascar pepper. A serious Wachau Grüner with real depth. Drink now through 2032.
