Cascina delle Rose Barbaresco Rio Sordo 2015

Dark, dense, and built for the long haul. The Rio Sordo runs deeper and more brooding than the Tre Stelle, with a full-bodied presence and firm, gripping tannins that signal this wine is nowhere near ready. Balsamic lift, dark spice, and dried herbs emerge slowly in the glass, but the wine keeps most of its cards close, there's a brooding, compressed quality that demands patience. Classic Barbaresco austerity. Give it four or five years minimum, and it should reward handsomely.
