Bernhard Ott Riesling Feuersbrunn 2015

Sourced from the highest, coolest site in Feuersbrunn, close to the woods, with limited sun exposure, this is the only wine Ott bottled dry in 2015, judging conditions unsuitable for his usual touch of residual sweetness. Lime peel, apple seed bitterness and a faintly oily texture define what is otherwise a lean, austere Riesling. The acidity is prominent and unrelenting; this is a bracing, almost austere bottle that left a chill rather than a glow. Worth revisiting in mid-2017 to see if it opens up.
