Alheit Vineyards Hemelrand Vine Garden 2015

Pale straw in the glass, with nectarine, honeyed florals, orange peel and macadamia drifting from the nose. On the palate it's concentrated yet light-footed, more saline and mineral than overtly fruity at this stage, with candied lemon emerging as it opens up in the glass. The 14.5% alcohol is absorbed gracefully into the wine's frame. Texture is the real story here: tactile and long on the finish, gaining sweetness and fruit definition with air without ever losing its composure.
