Le Pianelle Coste della Sesia Rosato al Posto dei Fiori 2014

Medium pink with good clarity. Redcurrant, nectarine and fresh herb aromas are understated but clean. In the mouth it's dense and juicy, red fruit up front with a faint banana note that doesn't quite belong, and a saline thread running through that lifts the whole thing. The finish holds long and bright. That banana aside, this is an outstanding rosato from Bramaterra, and the 90% Nebbiolo backbone keeps it serious.
